Our Family & Our Island

Way back in 1976 a little dive bar was founded on a small island called Hydra. This island was (and still is!) filled with artists, musicians, and fashionistas and was (and still is!) unique in that we don't use cars. We are a 3 generational family business with the help of a few essential others to keep things running smoothly during the tourist season.

Pirate Cats & The Cafe

Since our early days of rock 'n' roll dance parties until the sun came up, we have evolved into a cocktail bar which follows the bustling daytime of quality food, coffee, and good company (including our one-eyed pirate cats). One can find a mix of locals and foreigners enjoying lazy games of tavli (backgammon) while sipping unique cocktails after a summer's swim.

Play Music & Party On

We still play plenty of rock 'n' roll music mixed in with many other styles thanks to our longtime DJ of 15+ years, Zana, who has mastered leading the guests through the changing evening vibes from early drinks and socializing to dance parties late into the night. We know, even as pirates, just how important music is in life!
