Our Family & Our Island

Back in 1976 a little dive bar opened on the small island of Hydra. With no cars, a vibrant artistic spirit, and a mix of locals and visitors from around the world, Hydra has always been a place unlike any other. Today The Pirate Bar welcomes guests to enjoy food, coffee, cocktails and a little piece of island history.

Pirate Cats & The Cafe

What began as a late-night rock 'n' roll bar has grown into an all-day gathering place. From morning coffee and homemade treats to afternoon cocktails and backgammon in the shade, this is a meeting place for locals, travellers, and of course our beloved pirate cats who have become part of the family.

Play Music & Party On

Music has always been at the heart of The Pirate Bar. From laid back daytime playlists to lively evenings, you'dd hear everything from rock classics to eclectic sounds from around the world. Whether we're hosting guest DJs, celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying another summer night on Hydra, the soundtrack never stops.
